In today's world of marketing, knowing Internet Marketing Basics is a must. If you are trying to make in today's fierce business competition, a sharp, clever, and practical Internet site is a must, and with that comes the Internet Marketing Basics of a successful business.
In developing your business's Internet site, there are a few Internet Marketing Basics to keep in mind.
- Your domain name should be simple and easy to remember. When a customer says or hears the name of your web site, they should immediately think of what your site, or company, is all about. If possible, your domain name is most effective when you are able to include keywords that reflect your products/services. This is not only a marketing strategy, but also key Internet Marketing Basics.
- A “Welcome” page is not necessary. Your customers should feel welcomed by the very nature of your site. If you must provide a welcome page, use it as an opportunity to capture your customer’s name and email address.
- Know who your customers are! More specifically, know what they want. This is certainly easier said than done. Major companies spend millions of dollars on research yearly to answer this question. The significance of answering this question provides the company with ideas on how to better present their customers with the product or service they are trying to sell, and in turn, better meet the needs of the customers.
- Make sure your website is easy to find and company contact information is on the site. This may seem like an understood concept, but this step is often forgotten or over looked. Often when a customer is browsing your site and observing your product or service, they have questions that they want answered. Not two emails and three days later, but right then. This will in turn make your customers feel better about your product or service, and make them feel better about buying from your company.
- You need a quality website. Legitimacy is key. The difference between a few customers and many customers is the visual appeal of your web site. Remember, your web site is your image, spend the necessary time and money on it! It will pay off in the end! Take the time to apply these Internet Marketing Basics to your company's Internet site.
